{"id":506537,"date":"2026-05-03T17:37:01","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T21:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/abinader-announces-support-for-producers-affected-by-rains-in-the-northwest-line\/"},"modified":"2026-05-03T17:37:01","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T21:37:01","slug":"abinader-announces-support-for-producers-affected-by-rains-in-the-northwest-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/abinader-announces-support-for-producers-affected-by-rains-in-the-northwest-line\/","title":{"rendered":"Abinader announces support for producers affected by rains in the Northwest Line"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Montecristi<\/strong>.-\u00a0<strong>President Luis Abinader<\/strong>\u00a0held a meeting this Sunday with\u00a0<strong>rice and banana producers<\/strong>\u00a0and other <a href=\"https:\/\/presidencia.gob.do\/noticias\/presidente-abinader-anuncia-apoyo-productores-afectados-por-lluvias-en-la-linea-noroeste\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">items<\/a> from the provinces\u00a0<strong>Dajab\u00f3n, Montecristi and Valverde<\/strong>, to whom he promised\u00a0<strong>Government support<\/strong>\u00a0to face the situation left by the rains that in the last 40 days affected the entire national territory.<\/p>\n\n\nThe president ordered that all government institutions&nbsp;<strong>support those affected<\/strong>&nbsp;with maintenance of&nbsp;<strong>local roads and credits<\/strong>&nbsp;to continue production.\n\nRegarding the floods caused by the <strong>Yaque del Norte River<\/strong> in the municipality <strong>Casta\u00f1uelas<\/strong>, he announced that they are analyzing between dredging and the construction of a new bridge on <strong>30 de Mayo Avenue<\/strong> over the tributary, to avoid future damage from the overflow of the river current in the demarcation.\n\nHe insisted that the <strong>priority is to work<\/strong> so that the communities and farms in the area are not flooded.\n\n\n<p><strong>We recommend reading: <a href=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/nacionales\/autopista-ambar-veeduria\/\">President Abinader appoints oversight commission for the bidding of the \u00c1mbar highway<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\nThe recent floods, as a consequence of the latest rains fallen in a large part of the country, affected about <strong>2,000 tasks of rice and banana<\/strong> in the <strong>Northwest Line,<\/strong> mainly to the municipal district Palo Verde.\n\nPrior to the meeting, the Head of State took an aerial tour to observe the situation and verify the reservoirs of the dams <strong>Guayub\u00edn, Hatillo, Monci\u00f3n and Taveras,<\/strong> in the company of the director of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (Indrhi), <strong>Olmedo Caba<\/strong>, and the senator for the province of Espaillat, <strong>Carlos G\u00f3mez.<\/strong>\n\nRegarding that particular point, he highlighted the management given by the Indrhi and the <strong>Dominican Hydroelectric Generation Company<\/strong> (Egehid), which, he said, avoided major floods and increased electricity generation.\n\n<em>\u201cWe have managed the dams very well, which are generating more electricity.
