{"id":506633,"date":"2026-05-05T16:36:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/community-technology-centers-celebrate-girls-in-ict-day-in-villa-altagracia\/"},"modified":"2026-05-05T16:36:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:36:20","slug":"community-technology-centers-celebrate-girls-in-ict-day-in-villa-altagracia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/en\/uncategorized\/community-technology-centers-celebrate-girls-in-ict-day-in-villa-altagracia\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Technology Centers celebrate \"Girls in ICT Day\" in Villa Altagracia."},"content":{"rendered":"This day, held within the framework of Girls in ICT Day, is an initiative aimed at motivating and sparking the interest of girls and adolescents in the digital environment, in which 100 participants were certified.\n\n<strong>Villa Altagracia<\/strong>. \u2013 With the commitment to promote digital inclusion and foster young talent, the Community Technology Centers (CTC) held the event \u201cGirls in ICT\u201d at its headquarters in Villa Altagracia, a training day focused on the safe and innovative use of technology.\n\nThe initiative, developed on the occasion of Girls in ICT Day, aimed to encourage girls, adolescents and young women to become interested in careers related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), also contributing to closing the gender digital gap in the Dominican Republic.\n\nDuring the activity, 100 girls and adolescents were certified after completing a training process that included content on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, drone operation, and soft skills development. The training took place during the month of April by the CTC's Technological Training team.\n\nIn the act, Amanda Bernabel, in charge of Digital Citizenship, valued the commitment shown by the young women during the training process, highlighting that their discipline and willingness to learn constitute a solid foundation for their future in the technological field.\n\nThe event was led by Geanilda V\u00e1squez, coordinator of the Social Policy Cabinet of the Presidency, who urged the participants to continue their preparation in technological areas, underlining the importance of increasing female participation in innovation sectors.\n\n\n<p>We recommend reading:<\/p>\n\n\nFrom his side, Isidro Torres, general director of the CTC, acknowledged the dedication and enthusiasm of the participants, motivating them to continue training as part of a generation that is advancing towards technological development.\n\nThe conference included specialized lectures such as \"AI-driven cyber threats,\" given by cybersecurity engineer Lorenni Suero, and \"Digital brains and virtual shields: understanding AI,\" led by technologist Anyeska D\u00edaz.\n\nStudents from the polytechnics Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Altagracia and Jos\u00e9 N\u00fa\u00f1ez de C\u00e1ceres also participated in the event, as well as from the Estiliano Susano School and the F\u00e9lix Evaristo Abreu Mej\u00eda High School, who were part of the training program.\n\nAs a recognition of their performance, ten of the most outstanding participants received technological equipment to support the continuity of their training.\n\nThe training process was coordinated by Nelson N\u00fa\u00f1ez, along with a team made up of Amanda Bernabel, Silvio P\u00e9rez, Juan del Rosario, H\u00e9ctor Marino P\u00e9rez and facilitators from the CTCs.\n\nThe International Girls in ICT Day, promoted by the International Telecommunication Union, is celebrated every year in April with the aim of encouraging girls and young women around the world to explore opportunities in the technology sector.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This day, held within the framework of Girls in ICT Day, is an initiative aimed at motivating and sparking the interest of girls and adolescents in the digital environment, in which 100 participants were certified.
