This was followed by Unfair Competition with 15% and the Low Level of Economic Activity<strong> <\/strong>with 13%, reflecting that the main pressures on the sector combine cost factors, market conditions, and weak demand.<\/p>\n\n\nIn a second group of incidents, the Competition from imported products is located with 9%, as well as the Cost and supply of electrical energy and Fuel prices, both with 7%, which shows that operating costs continue to be a relevant component of the loss of industrial competitiveness.\n\nIn contrast, factors such as Cost and Access to Financing, Smuggling, Customs Procedures, and Permitting recorded the lowest incidences of the quarter, with values between 0% and 2%.\n\n\n<p><strong>Main Factors Affecting Competitiveness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/deultimominuto.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-06-at-4.11.39-PM.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-651476\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n<strong>January-March 2022 to January\u2014March 2026<\/strong>\n\nThe first three factors explain 48% of the incidence of factors affecting competitiveness.\n\nThe Industrial Outlook Survey is conducted quarterly by the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD).
