The meeting brought together industry professionals to reflect on representation, co-production and content circulation, highlighting the importance of expanding the presence of Latin American stories in international exhibition and distribution circuits.

As part of the industry agenda, Dominican producers and professionals held meetings with representatives from Germany, Uruguay, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, and the Basque Country, aimed at identifying opportunities for co-production, financing, training, and international circulation of audiovisual projects.

Simultaneously, the Dominican Republic participated in the working session “Distributors and Film Funds Working Session”, organized by Europa Distribution along with CAACI, EFAD and AFAN, an international dialogue space focused on the contemporary challenges of circulation, audience access and sustainability of independent cinema.

The general director of DGCINE, Marianna Vargas Gurilieva, participated as an institutional guest in this space of international exchange, along with representatives of funds, associations, and audiovisual authorities from different territories.

The meeting allowed for the sharing of perspectives on the contemporary challenges of film distribution and circulation, as well as exploring cooperation mechanisms aimed at strengthening the access of audiovisual works to new audiences and international markets.

Dominican participation in this space reaffirms the country's interest in actively integrating into international discussions on cooperation between public funds, distributors, and audiovisual markets, in a context where the global visibility and circulation of works is increasingly decisive for the sustainable development of the sector.

Within the framework of the Fantastic Pavilion of the Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival, the Dominican projects "Ecos", by Kryzz Gautier, and "Macheteros", by Daniel Oramas, were selected to participate in the next edition of Fantastic Lab Costa Rica, scheduled for July 2026.
