Santo Domingo.-<\/strong> A few days before the celebration of Mother's Day in the Dominican Republic<\/strong>, the country's cemeteries are already preparing to receive hundreds of families who will visit the graves of their loved ones, in a tradition that is kept alive every year among Dominicans.<\/p>\n\n\nIn the National Cemetery, the National District City Hall<\/strong> has intensified the conditioning and cleaning work to ensure that visitors can attend without inconvenience this Sunday.\n\nThe director of Public Services of the National District City Hall, Pamela Mart\u00ednez, explained that various maintenance works have been carried out throughout the cemetery.\n\n\n

\u201cHere, as you have seen upon entering, the touch-ups of the content paintings, signage, and patching have been done; the walls, the entrance, and the administrative office have been painted,\u201d indicated Martinez.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\nLikewise, it was pointed out that the cleaning brigades have reinforced the weeding and garbage removal work within the cemetery.\n\n\"We have reinforced the cleaning, we have applied herbicide throughout the cemetery to slow down the growth of grass and weeds. We also have brigades trimming and machete workers removing all the weeds, in addition to workers who have been taking all the garbage to the outside to then remove it in trucks,\" he added.\n\nMart\u00ednez assured that everything is ready to welcome families during Mother's Day<\/strong>, including a reinforcement of security.\n\n\"We are going to have national police, municipal police and also CIUTRAN agents,\" he expressed.\n\nThe official highlighted that, although the number of visitors may vary each year,<\/strong> the tradition of going to cemeteries on this date continues to be very significant for Dominican families.\n\n\n
