Taylor Swift will release an original song titled \u201cI Knew It, I Knew You\u201d<\/strong>, written for Toy Story 5, the new installment of the Disney and Pixar franchise that will hit theaters on June 18 in Latin America<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>The artist made the announcement this Monday at 2 p.m. (Eastern Time) through her social media, following a countdown displayed on her website and on a giant screen in Times Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song was co-written and co-produced with Jack Antonoff<\/strong>, a frequent collaborator of Swift, with whom she had not worked since the album The Tortured Poets Department<\/em>, released in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new song for Toy Story 5 returns to Swift’s country roots and was co-written with Jack Antonoff for Disney and Pixar <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And he continued in the post: \u201cI fell in love instantly with Toy Story 5<\/em> when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home<\/strong> after the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film’s director and screenwriter, Andrew Stanton<\/strong>, celebrated the collaboration in statements collected by Variety<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rumors gained momentum on May 29, when billboards appeared in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Toronto, Mexico City, and London with the initials \u201cTS\u201d in yellow letters<\/strong> on a blue background with thirteen white clouds \u2014Swift’s lucky number and corresponding to her birth date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That same weekend, Pixar<\/strong> shared on social media one of the billboards with an image of Jessie dancing. Taylor Swift released a CD single in standard, piano, and acoustic versions for a limited time on her official store<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week prior, Stanton had tried to mislead the press. In an interview picked up by Rolling Stone<\/em>, the director said it would be a \u201ctremendous honor\u201d to have the pop star, but added: \u201cThe sad truth is that we saw the final cut of the movie last week and the song at the end was not by Taylor Swift.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement was interpreted by many as a confirmation that Taylor Swift<\/strong> was indeed participating in the project, although in a different location within the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toy Story 5<\/strong><\/em> will follow the \u201ctoys vs. technology\u201d approach with the introduction of a tablet named Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee<\/strong>, which captures Bonnie’s attention and displaces the classic toys that once belonged to Andy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
