The film is based on a short story by writer <strong>Dave Eggers<\/strong>, who has also served as inspiration for other adaptations starring the American actor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this occasion, Hanks will play a veteran pitching coach who helps a Major League pitcher rebuild his career and his life after suffering a serious injury from being hit in the head by a ball during a game. The story combines sports elements with a focus on personal improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sony Pictures confirmed that <strong>\u201cThe Comebacker\u201d<\/strong> will hit theaters on <strong>July 30, 2027<\/strong>, a date chosen to coincide with the Major League season.
