Holy Sunday.- The Chamber of Deputies approved in the session this Tuesday a resolution by which it recognizes the actress of Dominican origin, Zoé Yadira Saldaña Nazario (Zoé Saldaña), for his outstanding career in the film industry.
The approved resolution is a consolidated legislative initiative of two resolutions proposed by the deputies Sadoky Duarte, representative of the province Sánchez Ramírez and Ylcemary Brito (Juliana O'Neal), from the province of Santo Domingo.
“To recognize Zoé Yadira Saldaña Nazario (Zoé Saldaña), actress, model, producer, and philanthropist, for her long and successful career in the film industry and for being the first actress of Dominican origin to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress,” the approved resolution states.
The approved text orders the Chamber of Deputies to award the prize winner a scroll of recognition contained in an extract of the resolution, in an event to be held in one of the halls of the National Congress.
At the end of Tuesday's work, the Speaker of the House, Alfredo Pacheco, called a session for tomorrow, Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m.

It is recalled that recently, Zoe Saldaña he rose with the Oscar for the better supporting actress, with which it closes a successful awards season and turns into the first actress of Dominican origin to have an award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Saldaña won the Oscar for her work in “Emilia Pérez” and was competing with Monica Barbaro (‘A Complete Unknown’), Ariana Grande (‘Wicked’), Felicity Jones (‘The Brutalist’) e Isabella Rossellini (‘Conclave’).
