Holy Sunday.- He Venezuelan singer and songwriter Danny Ocean, one of the most important Latin artists of recent times, performed before a euphoric audience that awaited him at the Festival Isle of Light held on Saturday night at the Punta Torrecilla Lighthouse in Santo Domingo.
After a rain delay that delayed the festival and limited its performance, Danny went up after 12 in the morning, overflowing with energy to the rhythm of their most iconic songs, expressing emotional words to all the attendees at the show who, despite the bad weather, stayed until the end.
"Thank you for your patience, guys. Thank you to the festival for the invitation. It's a pleasure and an honor for us to be here tonight. This is the most beautiful island in existence, that's the truth, guys," Danny told everyone present.
Danny Ocean, who landed in the Dominican Republic after a great performance in Puerto Rico, was accompanied in his presentation by a band of 6 musicians to play songs such as, "Amor", "Imagínate", "Binikini", "Fuera del Mercado", "Vuelve", "Swing", "Dembow", among many other songs in more than 1 hour and 30 minutes of show.
Throughout their performance, their chemistry and synergy with the audience were evident, making their performance one of the most applauded of the entire Isle of Light festival in its 11 years.
Tribute to the teacher Juan Luis Guerra
During his performance at the Isle of Light Festival, Danny expressed his admiration and respect for Dominican music maestro Juan Luis Guerra, whose most iconic songs, "Las Avispas," he performed a cappella with the audience.
Although the tribute was a bit improvised, as he himself expressed after singing the song, he affirmed that Juan Luis Guerra is one of the artists he admires most.
Danny Ocean melted with love for the Dominican Republic
The newly elected No. 1 on the Latin Pop Airplay chart of Billboard With “Imagínate,” his first musical collaboration with Kapo, Danny Ocean revealed that he feels very happy in the Dominican Republic and therefore spends a lot of time in the Caribbean country, where his girlfriend, the model and actress María del Mar Bonelly, is originally from, to whom he expressed emotional words.
“I don’t know if you knew, but my Babylon Girl is Dominican, so you know, so if you know the songs, let’s all get active together, okay, let’s go,” she added.
Danny expressed that his love and connection with the Dominican Republic goes back a long way, but it has only strengthened after beginning his relationship with María del Mar: “Thank you so much, Dominican Republic. It's so nice to be here. I spend a lot of time here,” Danny Ocean told the euphoric audience that accompanied him.
