Trino Marín, Jenni Rivera's ex-husband, was released after 18 years in prison for sexually abusing his daughters.

Trinidad Marín, Jenni Rivera's first husband, He was released from prison last year after having served 18 of his 31-year sentence for having abused his daughters Chiquis and Jacqie when they were children, as well as his then sister-in-law Rosie Rivera.

"November 26, 2024, Trino Marín is released from prison, but not on parole. He is free.", reported Addis Tuñón at noon on March 18.

The journalist explained that she and her colleague Gigi Magaña contacted Aurora Muñiz, press director for all California prisons, who confirmed the information.

On the night of March 17, Tuñón announced that Chiquis Rivera's father might have already been released, as he no longer appeared in the prison registry.

"There's recent news about the possible release of Trino Marín, Jenni Rivera's ex-husband, who was imprisoned in 2007 for sexually abusing his daughters Chiquis and Jacqie, as well as Rosie Rivera, Jenni's younger sister. He requested parole for good behavior," Addis explained on his YouTube channel on the morning of March 17.

Gigi Magaña explained that she spoke directly to "the prison matrix" to investigate the status of Trinidad Marín and did not appear in the system, so the woman he called assured him there were only two possible reasons: "Either he died or they released him."

Rosie Rivera warned that Trino Marín could be released.

On October 28, 2024, Rosie, one of the victims, shared that she had received a visit from a "sergeant" from the "District Attorney's office" who gave her "shocking news."

"(He told me that) they've reviewed the case and that they're going to sentence him again. This means that he could likely be released early or released in the sentencing. That depends on the judge, but it always depends on God."

Jenni Rivera's sister explained that authorities notify "victims when things like this happen, when they're appealing, in case they want to go to court," although she said she didn't want to go.

"When I heard this Obviously it wasn't a joy, because I don't know if he's rehabilitated. And I wouldn't trust my children with him, but I don't know anything about him either, what if he's already reconciled with God," Rosie said in the Instagram video.

The businesswoman assured that she would be "fine" with the judge's ruling and sent "blessings" to her attacker.

"I don't need Trino to spend his entire life in prison because I could handle both healthcare and justice at the same time (…) I'm experiencing a lot of emotions. I don't need to talk to him. I wish him the best. May God bless him, may God bless his family, his children. The important thing is that I'm fine; justice has been done," he concluded.

In early November 2024, Chiquis Rivera declined to discuss the matter with the press, but hinted that her father might be released.

"Right now I don't want to give my opinion, I don't know what God wants. When I went to see him, he is a changed man, I felt it in my heart. God has the last word, so I'm here waiting"he declared at the time.
