Riad.- Ukraine accepted this Tuesday, after the meeting between delegations from kyiv and Washington in Saudi Arabia, a US proposal for both sides to declare a immediate 30-day ceasefire, which will now be presented to Moscow.
Washington also pledged to resume supplying military aid and intelligence to Ukraine following President Donald Trump's decision to cut off the flow of weapons and intelligence as a means of pressuring kyiv to agree to negotiate a ceasefire with Russia.
The agreement between Ukraine and the US was announced in a joint statement signed by both sides after the meeting of their respective delegations in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
"Ukraine expressed its readiness to accept the U.S. proposal to declare an immediate 30-day ceasefire, which may be extended by mutual agreement of the parties and is subject to acceptance and subsequent implementation by the Russian Federation," the statement read, adding that the U.S. will communicate to Russia "that Russian reciprocity is key to achieving peace."
The joint statement also highlights the importance of taking, during the proposed ceasefire, humanitarian measures such as "the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of detained civilians and the return of forcibly transferred Ukrainian children" to territories under Russian control or to the Russian Federation.

Both delegations also agreed to appoint their respective negotiating teams for a peace process with Russia.
Furthermore, Washington and kyiv pledged to sign "as soon as possible" the agreement for the joint exploitation of Ukraine's mineral resources, which should allow for "the expansion of Ukraine's economy," guarantee the country invaded by Russia "long-term prosperity and security," and ensure the U.S. recovers the money spent supporting Ukraine during this war.
The statement also notes that Ukraine called at the meeting for Europe to be included in the peace process.
