Kiev.- He Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andri Sibiga, declared this Friday that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, “wants to continue the war” by setting conditions for declaring the immediate 30-day ceasefire proposed by the US, something that kyiv is willing to accept.
“Ukraine said 'yes' to the ceasefire proposal. Because Ukraine wants peace. Instead of saying 'yes,' Putin has set several conditions"Sibiga said after the Russian president, among other things, called on Thursday for an end to arms shipments to kyiv during the US-backed truce.
Sibiga added that “Ukraine seeks to end the war” while “Putin seeks to prolong it.”
"The rest of his words are just a smokescreen," the Ukrainian foreign minister emphasized.
