Santo Domingo. - During a special presentation by Eddy Herrera at La Casa de Alofoke 2, the businessman and producer Santiago Matías presented an award to the legendary merengue singer, in a moment filled with emotions and celebration for his extensive musical career.
This recognition highlighted Herrera's invaluable contribution to merengue and his career of over 35 years, making him a true icon of Dominican music.

In his speech, Santiago Matías highlighted Herrera's recent achievement of winning his second Latin Grammy, in the category of "Best Merengue or Bachata Album" for his album Novato, Apostador. "Today we have here a man who won his second highest award for an artist; the Latin Grammy. Thank you for taking Dominican pride high, for taking music high. You deserve this," said Matías, who then embraced the artist. Santiago Matías' gesture was humbly received by Eddy Herrera, who, in a joking tone, addressed the camera as if he were participating in a reality show, generating laughter among those present. “Camarita, are you there!” exclaimed Herrera, before thanking his audience and the team that has accompanied him throughout his successful career. "35 years of career, 5 years with Wilfrido Vargas, 40 years in total, and the truth is that I feel honored," pointed out the merengue singer. Finally, Eddy Herrera addressed the audience again, raising the plaque that the businessman awarded him, highlighting his admiration for Matías' discipline and vision. "I am very happy for you and your team, you are greatly fruitful and visionary. You are a productive, hardworking guy with a unique talent for generating and creating. It's you, Dad, along with that whole big team that always accompanies you," concluded Herrera, closing a night of recognition and celebration for one of the greats of merengue.
