Santo Domingo.- The Public Ministry of San Pedro de Macorís announced on Monday that it opened a criminal process against a prisoner accused of the murder of a cellmate in the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) of that province.
The inmate Luis Eduardo Rodríguez (BC One) will have to answer for the murder of Yonatan Santos Báez Veloz.

The Public Ministry, represented by prosecutor Ana María Frías, accuses Rodríguez of violating articles 295 and 304 of the Dominican Penal Code, which sanction voluntary murder. The charges filed against Rodriguez (BC One) are added to those of robbery, homicide, and other crimes classified by the Dominican Penal Code, for which he is serving a sentence in the CCR of San Pedro de Macorís. The agents guarding the center found the victim with no vital signs when checking the cell, in the isolation ward, during the morning count. The victim, Báez Veloz, was held in the detention center accused of committing several serious crimes.
