Google Glasses: they promise everything

Google is trying again with smart glasses and this week presented its new Android XR, now powered by Gemini AI and capable of translating live conversations (or at least, that's what they promise).

The glasses, which connect to the phone and display information on the lens, seek to be more elegant thanks to alliances with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

During the demonstration at the Google I/O, the real-time translation between Farsi, Hindi, and English left everyone speechless… Until it failed on stage!.

Despite the setback, the Mountain View giant assures that these glasses are their biggest leap in years, although they did not give details about price or release date.

"Equipped with a camera, microphones, and speakers, these glasses work in conjunction with your phone, allowing you to access your applications without having to reach into your pocket," the company explained.

These futuristic glasses also feature an "optional screen" inside the lens that provides useful information privately, such as a map or a text message.

Google also noted that it has strived to make these models more elegant, which is why the tech giant is collaborating with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker as founding partners for the supply of the frames.

Despite the high-profile presentation, the company did not indicate when this model might be released or what the price will be. So far, the cheapest model of Ray-Ban and Meta smart glasses costs about 300 dollars.
