Santo Domingo, R.D. – The Association of Art Chroniclers (Acroarte) announced that voting is open for the Soberano del Público (Sovereign of the Public), a recognition that allows followers to choose their favorite nominee from the different categories of the Soberano 2026 Awards.
From today until Monday, March 16, the public can participate by voting for their favorite artists and figures in the Classical, Film, Popular and Communication areas, selecting who they consider worthy of taking home the coveted Soberano del Público statuette in the 2026 edition.

"The Sovereign of the Public" is a special award within the Soberano Awards in the Dominican Republic, where the audience has the opportunity to choose their favorite artist or figure through online voting. To participate, those interested must go to the official awards page: www.premiossoberanos.com.do.“With this modality, Acroarte gives the public the opportunity to influence the nominees to choose their favorite, the one who should take one of the statuettes, a faculty that regularly corresponds to the official jury members of the award, but which has been established in the award regulations”, expressed Marivell Contreras, president of the guild.
The Association of Art Journalists (Acroarte) has organized the Soberano Awards since 1985, a recognition that each year celebrates the best of art, entertainment, and communication in the Dominican Republic. The 41st annual Soberano Awards gala will be held on the night of March 18, 2026, starting at 7:00 PM, in the Eduardo Brito Hall of the National Theater, and will be broadcast nationally through Color Visión (channel 9), while in the United States it can be seen on Univision and the streaming platform ViX, under the production of César Suárez Jr.
