The Executive Directorate of National Irrigation Technology (TNR), the Agricultural Bank, and the National Council for the Regulation and Promotion of the Dairy Industry (Conaleche), opened the call for the Fund for the Promotion of Technology in the National Irrigation System (Fotesir), aimed at producers interested in receiving non-refundable bonuses of up to 70% to strengthen the production of pasture for dairy cattle.
The initiative has RD$30 million in incentives aimed at promoting small projects of livestock producers duly registered in Conaleche, who implement agricultural technologies such as irrigation systems, in order to make efficient use of water in livestock farming.
At the same time, it is part of the Bagri-Riego program, a strategy developed jointly by the TNR and Banco Agrícola (Bagrícola), aimed at promoting the modernization of the Dominican countryside, increasing agricultural competitiveness and strengthening the country's food security.
Claudio Caamaño Vélez, director of the TNR, indicated that the call is aimed at irrigation projects of up to 100 tareas of dairy farmers.
