Marileidy Paulino reigns again in Paris

Dominican athlete Marileidy Paulino pulverized this Friday the record of the Paris Diamond League meeting at the Charlety stadium by stopping the clock at 48.81 in the 400 meters, in a race in which the Chilean Martina Weil, third with 49.83, broke the national record in the distance. Paulino, 28 years old, demonstrated the idyll he maintains with Paris eleven months after winning the gold medal in the 400 meters at the Games, in which he also broke the Olympic record with 48.17.

This time it was at the Charlety stadium where Marileidy Paulino flew over the track to win with 48.81, only four hundredths of a second less (48.85) than Bahraini Salwa Eid Naser. Third place went to the Chilean Martina Weil (49.83), who at 26 years old broke the national record and considerably lowered her personal best, which was 50.39.
