The lifeless body of Víctor Roque, reported missing in the National District, is found at sea.
Santo Domingo. – Authorities confirmed this Wednesday the discovery at sea of the lifeless body of Víctor Alberto Roque Ariza, 29 years old, who had been reported missing since last Tuesday, September 9, in the 30 de Mayo sector, Distrito Nacional.
The recovery of the body took place after an extensive search operation involving divers, drones, and personnel from the Dominican Navy, with the support of a team of eight rescuers. The operation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Méndez, from the Fire Department of the National District, who explained that they remained in the Malecón area from early hours to find the young man.
Roque was last seen in the vicinity of the Licona Store Home Licor establishment, near the Vista del Mar park. His vehicle, a black Honda Accord, license plate A971072, was found at the scene, along with his wallet containing personal documents and his cell phone, which reinforced the hypothesis that he had voluntarily abandoned the car.
The disappearance raised alarms among family and friends, after handwritten letters were found in his room in which he asked for forgiveness and said goodbye to his mother and siblings, reflecting his delicate emotional state after recently losing his job.
The family had requested the collaboration of the citizenry to locate him, while the authorities carried out the search that concluded with the finding of his body in the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
