Casals questions Faride Raful after mentioning Macarena Olona as a Spanish State attorney in the Koldo case
Santo Domingo.- Lawyer and communicator Pedro Manuel Casals once again put the spotlight on the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, by declaring on Esto no es Radio regarding the evolution of the Koldo case in Spain with meetings held by Dominican authorities and demanding explanations about the country’s collaboration with the Spanish investigations.
Casals stated that the Spanish State attorney Macarena Olona, whom he mentioned as part of the process related to the case, represents a significant element within the investigation and maintained that the revelations coming from Spain strengthen his questions regarding alleged links between the corruption scheme and the Dominican Republic.
The lawyer recalled that he had previously questioned a meeting held between Minister Faride Raful and the then-Minister of the Interior of Spain, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, asserting that said meeting should be publicly explained in light of the events that, according to him, have subsequently emerged regarding the Koldo case.

Casals cited publications and news from Spanish media to argue that the Dominican authorities had allegedly blocked or failed to provide information required by Spain regarding individuals supposedly linked to the investigation. Based on this, he questioned why the Dominican Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other agencies have not offered an official explanation regarding the cooperation with the Spanish authorities.
He also mentioned the names of Spanish businessmen and former officials allegedly linked to the case and assured that the investigations could have repercussions in both Spain and the Dominican Republic.
He concluded by maintaining that he has been denouncing these facts for several years and stated that he will continue to collaborate with Spanish journalists and media outlets that are following the case.
