December starts with mostly sunny skies and scattered showers likely

Santo Domingo. - The Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (INDOMET) forecast that the beginning of December will be accompanied by mostly sunny skies, although with probable scattered showers in a large part of the country. Indomet detailed that the presence of a trough at various levels of the troposphere and the northeast wind flow will induce cloudiness from morning hours until nightfall, accompanied by scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over provinces of the Atlantic coastal coastline, the eastern plain, the southeast, and the mountain systems. Among them: Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Monte Plata, El Gran Santo Domingo, Espaillat, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Romana, La Vega, La Altagracia and San Pedro de Macorís. In the other regions, mostly sunny conditions will prevail. However, for tomorrow Tuesday, the weather conditions will be dominated by an atmosphere of reduced moisture content associated with a high-pressure system, with a mostly sunny environment and very little rain in the country. Only the occurrence of widely isolated showers is expected towards provinces of the Atlantic coastal coastline, the Eastern plain and the Eastern mountain range, due to the incidence of the northeast wind, caused by a trough to the east of the island and local orographic effects. Due to the time of year and the effects of the east/northeast wind, temperatures will remain pleasant, especially at night and early morning, mainly in mountainous areas and valleys in the interior of the country, where fogs or mists are also likely at the end of the early morning and early hours of the day. National District: cloudy in the afternoon with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Santo Domingo Norte: Cloudy increases in the afternoon with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Santo Domingo Este: Cloudy increases after midday with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Santo Domingo Oeste: cloudy in the afternoon with occasional showers. Temperatures: the minimum will be between 21 °C and 23 °C and the maximum between 30 °C and 32 °C. Summary: Mostly sunny over much of the country with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in some provinces of the Atlantic coastal area, the eastern plain, southeast and the mountain ranges… Cool and pleasant temperatures at night and dawn. On Wednesday, a trough present at various levels of the troposphere east of the island, and the flow of northeast winds will cause scattered showers from morning hours and during the night, towards locations in the regions: north, northeast, southeast and the Central Mountain Range. National District: Scattered clouds to partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated showers. The great Santo Domingo: partly cloudy in the afternoon with scattered showers
