This imposing iron construction is located on the Champ de Mars in Paris (France). It is a major tourist attraction worldwide, visited annually by more than 7 million tourists and is considered the fourth most visited monument in the world. One of the interesting facts about this tower lies in its color, as it is not the same in all its parts, being darker as you go up. Annually, about 50 tons of paint are applied to prevent corrosion.
Did you know that for 41 years it was considered the tallest building in the world? It is 300 meters high, being displaced by the construction of the Chrysler Building in New York, in 1930. On the other hand, the destruction of this building was planned about twenty years after its inauguration. But in 1900 the French Navy installed a radio antenna at its highest point, which prevented its dismantling. Thank you French Navy!
