Santo Domingo.– The personal assistant of doctor and engineer Ramón Alburquerque, a colonel close to his circle, expressed this Friday his deep sorrow for the death of the outstanding Dominican political leader and technician, whom he defined as “one of the most serious and honest men the country has had”.

He indicated that Alburquerque passed away around eleven in the morning and that his remains will be viewed on Saturday, January 31st, starting at 9:00 AM, at the Jardín Memorial funeral home, located on the corner of Núñez de Cáceres, Capilla de la Rosa.

He also highlighted his time as president of the Senate for four years, assuring that he left that position "with clean hands and the recognition of all". "He fulfilled his duty and died in peace," he added. The colonel also pointed out that, during his illness, Ramón Alburquerque received visits from various political leaders and that, before leaving, he expressed serenity. "He only left love, affection, kindness and peace. At the last hour he said that he had already fulfilled his duty to his people," he concluded.
