Azua. – A woman was found lifeless in the waters of a river in the municipal district of El Barro, in Azua, showing evident signs of violence, local authorities reported.
The victim was identified as Eribelis Morón, approximately 35 years old. According to preliminary reports, the body presented multiple stab wounds, mainly concentrated on the face, indicating that she may have been attacked before being thrown into the river.
Agents of the National Police and representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office went to the scene to carry out the removal of the body and begin the corresponding investigations with the aim of clarifying the circumstances of the crime.
The body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for medical studies and autopsy to accurately determine the cause of death. Authorities announced that investigations are ongoing, including the collection of testimonies and the review of possible security cameras in the area.
