Santo Domingo.-In the framework of the commemoration of International Workers' Day, the United Workers' Union held a masterful conference headed by Dr. Rafael Albuquerque, who addressed the main aspects and challenges of the new Labor Code in the Dominican Republic. The important activity took place in the institution's event hall, where prominent authorities and representatives from different sectors gathered. Among those present were Senator Eduard Espiritusanto, Provincial Governor Ivelisse Mercedes Méndez, the regional director of CONANI, Linda Mota, María Gil, representative of FEDA, the general superintendent of the Fire Department, Alberto Familia, as well as the union advisor Próspero Juan. Domingo Mejía, also known as “Pasitico”, also participated, representing the transportation sector in the Eastern region, along with Denis Roches, president of the United Workers Union, who valued the holding of this type of meeting to strengthen the training and guidance of the working class.
