New information about the last days in the life of acclaimed American actress Diane Keaton was revealed by People magazine, citing the death certificate obtained on October 16. The document confirms that the immediate cause of her death was primary bacterial pneumonia and that she was cremated on October 14.
It is also stated that Keaton had been seeing a doctor since September 24th and that his last visit was on October 9th, two days before his death. The certificate does not mention any other significant condition that contributed to his death.

"Her condition worsened very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her. It was something totally unexpected, especially in someone with so much strength and spirit. Not even lifelong friends were fully aware of what was happening," a person close to the film legend commented to the media. Apparently, the actress had decided to "keep everything in the strictest privacy," the source added.For her part, singer Carole Bayer Sager said she was "impressed by how much [Keaton] had lost weight" when she saw her after the wildfires in California in January.
