Santo Domingo.– The play "Sin pedir permiso", written, produced and starring Tania Báez, will be presented at Escenario 360 on March 19, 20, 21 and 28.
Under the direction of Waddys Jáquez, this proposal has achieved a sold-out in the first three performances, opening a new performance on March 28 at 6pm. The play brings together on stage five actresses and communicators who represent five generations of women: Carla Hernández who plays Valentina in her 20s; Rosmery Herrand, who portrays Camila, 35 years old; Pamela Sued gives life to Laura, 45 years old; Tania Báez portrays Lorena, 57; and Milagros Germán as Patricia who is 64 years old. This intergenerational encounter enriches the scene and embodies the central message of the work in which, in the end, all women, without distinction of age, share universal emotions, fears, dreams, and desires. We recommend reading:Tania Báez responds to criticism for her demands on men at 60
Through five intense monologues, Sin pedir permiso addresses themes such as motherhood under pressure, divorce, financial independence, emotional violence, dignity, among other aspects.
According to its creator, the work arises from the desire to open necessary conversations that have been normalized in silence for years within families, couples, and circles of friends.
"More than a play, it's a collective mirror of the situations and experiences that women face today, and we want the audience to see themselves, identify with it, and dare to speak about what was previously overlooked," Baez expressed.
She also highlighted that the staging has been enriched by the experiences shared by the actresses themselves and by the stories of so many women who have accompanied her professional career.
