Washington.- United States President Donald Trump confirmed this Sunday that he plans to announce tariffs for Colombia, after having ordered to suspend financial aid for that South American country by accusing its president, Gustavo Petro, of being a leader of drug trafficking.
On board the Air Force One plane, Trump confirmed to the press the words of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who hours earlier assured -on the social network X- that the White House is preparing tariffs for Colombia.You can read: President of Peru meets with heads of electoral bodies six months before elections
According to Trump's statements, the US president maintains that Petro would be facilitating the growth of the illicit cocaine business through the lack of concrete actions to combat it. Trump went further by stating that the Colombian president not only allows the expansion of drug production and export to the United States, but also would be incurring in a systematic deception to the North American country.
