Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santos, informed that the national blackout recorded this Monday morning originated after the tripping of the 138 Hainamosa–Villa Duarte line within the national electricity system.
Santos indicated that, a few hours before the event, about 30% of the electrical system had already been restored, and assured that the process will continue progressively throughout the national territory.
During a press conference held at the Energy Control Center of the Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED), the official explained that at approximately 10:50 a.m. the established protocols were immediately activated to restore service as quickly as possible.
