He acknowledged that his departure has left him with doubts even about his future in football.

The Argentine footballer, Lionel Messi, expressed the deep pain he is going through after the death of his father, Jorge Messi, through a post on his Instagram account.

The star remembered the figure of his father and the fundamental role he played from his first steps as a soccer player, accompanying him to training sessions, matches, and decisive moments of his career.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do without you, I don’t know how to go on,” wrote Messi.

The footballer also recalled that his father asked him to play in the last World Cup and recounted how, after every match, he would wait to receive his message.

He also confessed that he dreamed of reaching the final so that his father could see him play and that he even wanted to win the match to dedicate the title to him.

The loss also seems to have sparked uncertainty about Messi’s continuity in soccer. “I have quite a few doubts that I will continue doing it for much longer”, stated the world champion, leaving open the possibility that the duel could influence his next professional steps.

In his farewell, Messi defined his father as “dad, friend and agent”.

The Argentine assured that he will miss him deeply, but that his presence will remain in his memory and in the education he provides to his children.

I am going to miss you a lot, but you will always be present. I love you, dad❤️”, he/she concluded.
