Abinader ranks eighth in approval rating of Latin American presidents

Santo Domingo.- The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, holds the eighth position in the approval ranking of Latin American leaders for August 2026, prepared by CBGlobalData.

According to the published data, Abinader records a 48.1% approval rating, while 47.6% disapprove of his administration. The remaining 4.3% corresponds to people who did not respond or do not have a defined opinion.

With these results, the Dominican leader is in the category of presidents with fair approval and occupies the eighth position among the 18 leaders included in the measurement.

The ranking is led by Nayib Bukele, from El Salvador, with a 68.7% approval rating, followed by the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, with 66.5%.

In third place appears Keiko Fujimori, from Peru, with 55%, while the president of Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella, occupies the fourth position with 52.4%. He is followed by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, from Brazil, with 51.9%, and Rodrigo Paz, from Bolivia, with 50.5%.

Below Abinader are José Antonio Kast, from Chile, with 47.7%; Santiago Peña, from Paraguay, with 47.2%; and Daniel Noboa, from Ecuador, with 45.3%.

The list continues with Nasry Asfura, from Honduras (41.6%); Yamandú Orsi, from Uruguay (37.5%); Daniel Ortega, from Nicaragua (36%); Javier Milei, from Argentina (35.1%); José Raúl Mulino, from Panama (31.4%); Bernardo Arévalo, from Guatemala (29.5%), and Delcy Rodríguez, from Venezuela, who occupies the last place with 26.7% approval.

Regarding the variation in positive image compared to July, the graph shows that Abinader went from 48.7% to 48.1%, a reduction of 0.6 percentage points.

The result places the Dominican president practically divided between those who approve and disapprove of his administration, with a difference of just 0.5 percentage points in favor of approval.
