Dominican Republic to host its first Coconut Summit
Santo Domingo.- The firm RAAS Irrigation Systems announced the celebration of DominiCoco 2026, the first Coconut Summit in the Dominican Republic, which will take place this Thursday, August 13, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Santo Domingo, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The meeting will bring together producers, entrepreneurs, investors, specialists, and institutions linked to the agricultural sector, with an agenda aimed at addressing the main challenges and opportunities of the coconut value chain, from cultivation and productivity to its industrialization, commercialization, and innovation.
Among the topics to be covered are the official coconut figures in the Dominican Republic, irrigation management to achieve higher levels of productivity, pest and disease control, the industrial use of coconut water, and the investment opportunities offered by the sector. Aspects related to nutrition and coconut consumption will also be addressed, as well as experiences in production and market development.

The agenda will feature the participation of national and international specialists, including Fabio Miranda, from Brazil, who will speak on irrigation management in coconut for high productivity; Jamison Dos Santos, with a lecture on secrets to achieve high productivity in the crop; Junior Gouveia, who will address mite control in coconut trees; and Ienaga Narciso, in charge of presenting strategies for the effective processing of coconut water, its technology, quality, and safety.
The program also includes the participation of Horacio Lomba, general manager of Consorcio Cítricos Dominicanos–Grupo Rica, who will address the coconut value chain; Daniel Dalet Casals, agro-industrial entrepreneur and founder of SoloCoco; and José Ramón Peralta Fernández, an agro-industrial businessman with extensive experience in the development of the Dominican productive sector.
One of the central spaces will be the panel “The future of the Dominican coconut: production, industry, investment and territorial development,” which will bring together leaders linked to the growth of this productive activity. The day will also include a session on the role of coconut in nutrition and consumption, led by clinical nutritionist Richard Marine.

DominiCoco 2026 also includes networking spaces and investment opportunities, with the purpose of fostering exchange between producers, entrepreneurs, specialists, and investors and generating new connections within the coconut production chain.
