Patriotic Anniversaries urges the placement of the National Flag in visible places for the Restoration
Santo Domingo. – The Permanent Commission of Patriotic Efemerides urged public and private institutions, as well as the general public, to display and place the National Flag in visible places, in honor of the 163rd anniversary of the Restoration of the Republic, which has its epicenter on August 16, 1863, with the liberating cry of Capotillo against the betrayal and annexation to the Spanish empire.

The president of the entity responsible for official State rituals, Juan Pablo Uribe, noted that since August 16th falls on a Sunday, flags should be displayed from now on, thus promoting national pride and the civic values that identify us as a free, sovereign, and independent nation.
Uribe concluded by emphasizing that August is a month of deep patriotic roots in the historical formation of Dominican identity.
