Santo Domingo. – The remains of the renowned journalist and art chronicler Carlos Batista Matos will be displayed starting this Tuesday at 5:00 in the afternoon at the Blandino funeral home, located on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, in the National District.
The funeral honors will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night. Subsequently, on Thursday at 10:00 in the morning a Mass will be officiated, and the burial is scheduled for 11:00 in the morning of that same day.
According to information provided by his family, Batista Matos was found dead in his apartment in the El Vergel sector, where he resided in the capital. The news was confirmed by his youngest daughter, generating great sorrow in the journalistic and artistic circles of the country.
A life dedicated to communication and culture
Born on December 30, 1950, in Vicente Noble, Barahona province, Carlos Batista Matos stood out from a young age for his vocation for communication, cultural analysis, and entertainment journalism. He received academic training in International Relations, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors, which reflected his broad vision and interest in social and cultural issues.
