Santo Domingo.- The defense of Ángel Martínez Jiménez, accused recently of alleged crimes of attacks, defamation and misuse of digital media, has requested the Santiago Prosecutor's Office to lift the ban on leaving the country, alleging strictly medical and humanitarian reasons that compromise his health.
According to a legal medical certificate issued by Dr. Luis H. Lugo, M.D., specialist in Internal Medicine, Martínez is under continuous and specialized medical treatment in the United States, where he receives care for multiple chronic and high-risk conditions, such as prostate cancer, type II diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, and coronary artery disease.
In a medical certificate that his defense sent to the editorial staff of De Último Minuto, it is reported that part of his complicated diagnosis includes hyperlipidemia, a history of pulmonary embolism, and cognitive impairment compatible with early-stage dementia. The documentation dated May 29, 2025, in the state of Florida, indicates that Martinez has an essential and unavoidable medical appointment on June 4, 2025. It is also added that "Failure to attend this appointment could pose a serious risk to his health, given the complexity of his clinical condition."
“Solicito respetuosamente que este certificado sea considerado en cualquier procedimiento legal o administrativo que afecte su capacidad de viajar”, concluye el documento firmado y notariado en el condado de Broward, Florida.
