Sequins and indigenous Panamanian fabrics shine on the Premios Juventud red carpet

Panama.- A wide repertoire of Hispanic singers paraded on the blue carpet of the Premios Juventud, which are held this Thursday for the first time in Panama, with outfits full of sequins and indigenous designs from that Central American country. Along the carpet of these awards, Latino and Spanish artists posed before the cameras with their striking outfits, many of them made by local and indigenous designers with the colorful 'molas', the traditional textile of the Guna ethnic group (Caribbean). Thus, the various musicians recognized the contribution and the "brand" of Panama to Latin American music both in the hall and in reggaeton. "Panamá has marked generations with its music. In the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, it has been a great influence and for them to give us the opportunity to be here, to sing on their stage, in their country, is a great privilege," said Natti Natasha to EFE, who will sing tonight with the Panamanian Nando Boom. This year's edition, which takes place during Hispanic Heritage Month, is scheduled to pay tribute to Panamanian music with several renowned artists from Panama, who in recent weeks have prepared to host the awards through on-screen promotion.

So during the opening, the historical salsa singer Willie Colón, who along with the Panamanian Rubén Blades formed one of the most iconic duos of that musical genre around 1980, will perform his hit 'La Murga', composed with Héctor Lavoe. This is the first time the Premios Juventud are held outside the United States, with Panama being the country hosting this edition in which 231 artists compete in 41 categories: thirty music, three television and 'streaming', and eight social media.
