PSOE Senator Javier Izquierdo has announced that he is resigning from all his positions, both in the Upper House and in the Federal Executive Commission of the party, where he is Secretary of Studies and Programs. «I do it to face other professional and personal tasks; sure that there will be someone who does it better. Always grateful», the senator has written on the social network X, in a message in which he announces that «after years in public and organic positions in my party, I have communicated to the federal leadership my resignation as a member of the CEF and also as a senator». The press reveals an alleged harassment complaint

The announcement, which has caused surprise in his group in the Upper House, takes place after eldario.es published this Thursday that a new document registered in Ferraz's anti-harassment channel points to Izquierdo.

This complaint would be added to those registered in recent days against other party officials, specifically Francisco Salazar, former advisor to Moncloa; Antonio Navarro, general secretary of the PSOE in Torremolinos (Málaga) suspended from membership; José Tomé, president of the Lugo Provincial Council and who has already announced his resignation from the party and his resignation from that position. Javier Izquierdo is a PSOE senator for Valladolid and spokesperson in two Commissions, in the Housing and Urban Agenda, and in the one that investigates the management of the president of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS). In addition, in the PSOE he held the position of Secretary of Studies and Programs of the Federal Executive Commission. According to the biography published by the Upper House, Javier Izquierdo (Mieres, 1970) is an architect from the University of Valladolid and has also held other positions, including Member of Congress in the XIII Legislature, Government Delegate in Castilla y León between 2020 and 2021, procurator of the Cortes of Castilla y León and councilor in the Valladolid City Council.
