Visibly affected, the family member pointed out that the pain intensifies with each memory: “Every time we hear our brother's song it's like reliving the pain,” highlighting that the loss not only affects his family, but also the Dominican people who for decades enjoyed the music of Rubby Pérez. These statements are made amidst the demonstrations and demands for justice from the victims' families. During the march, the relatives insisted that “justice cannot be bought with money” and requested that the judges act with impartiality and responsibility, warning that this case should not go unpunished. They also reported that on the next January 30th, at 9:00 in the morning, a hearing will be held at the Palace of Justice of Ciudad Nueva, in which the Espaillat brothers will request a new expert assessment on the collapse of the premises. The relatives assured that they will remain vigilant until justice is done and the facts are clarified.
