Russia urges moderation and abstains from using force in the situation around Iran, declared Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov. The spokesman emphasized that such steps could destabilize the situation throughout the Middle East region. "We continue to urge all parties to moderation and to renounce the use of force to resolve problems," he said. "It is evident that the potential for negotiation is far from exhausted. And, of course, since it is far from exhausted, attention should be focused primarily on negotiation mechanisms," Peskov added. "Any act of force can only create chaos in the region and have very dangerous consequences," he concluded. Peskov's statements come amid the threat of a possible U.S. attack on the Persian nation.

In addition, the president declared on Wednesday that "as with Venezuela", the fleet "is ready, willing and able to quickly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence if necessary". For its part, Tehran has warned that any military action against it "will be considered the beginning of a war", while stating that its Armed Forces "are prepared, with their finger on the trigger, to respond immediately and forcefully to any aggression".
