Cloudy skies and probable rain could affect some provinces this Friday

Santo Domingo. - The presence of a frontal system north of the island and local effects will continue to cause cloud developments, until the early hours of the morning, with locally moderate rains and occasional wind gusts over provinces of the northwest, El Cibao Valley, La Cordillera Central and the eastern plain, including: Dajabón, Montecristi, Valverde, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Hermanas Mirabal, Santiago Rodríguez, Elías Piña, Santiago, La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, Samaná, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata and El Seibo, according to the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET). For tomorrow, Friday, the weakened front system will retreat further north of our area, allowing the entry of a drier and more stable air mass, favoring a sunny environment and very little rainfall in the country. However, the southeast wind and the local orography will cause some isolated showers over provinces of the Caribbean coastal area and the mountain systems at night. Temperatures will feel slightly pleasant to cool during the night and early morning, especially in mountainous areas and inland valleys, where morning fogs or mists could occur.

National District: isolated clouds. Santo Domingo Norte: scattered clouds. Santo Domingo East: isolated cloudiness. Santo Domingo Oeste: isolated clouds. Minimum temperatures between 21 °C and 23 °C and the maximum between 30 °C and 32 °C. Summary: Isolated clouds over a large part of the country with moderate rain and wind gusts over some locations…pleasant temperatures tonight and early morning in mountain areas and inland valleys. On Saturday, the warm and humid wind from the southeast is forecast to interact with a trough to the northwest of the country, associated with a front. For this reason, cloud cover increases are expected from morning hours followed by scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms and wind gusts over provinces of the Caribbean coastal area, the eastern plain, the northeast and the mountain range. Mainly in: Pedernales, Barahona, Azua, Peravia, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Samaná, Monte Plata, La Romana and La Altagracia.
