United States.- The renowned Dominican-born rapper Cardi B, offered an electrifying performance on Saturday Night Live” (SNL), from NBC, one of the most important programs on American television, where she performed songs from her most recent album “Am I The Drama?”.

One of the most exciting and surprising moments was the interpretation of the song “BODEGA BADDIE”, which uses a sample of the legendary typical merengue “Tá Buena”, by the artists El Prodigio and Magic Juan.

The presentation highlighted Dominican music on the important SNL stage, where Cardi B was accompanied by El Prodigio and his group, showcasing the essence and true Dominican identity to the international audience.

This participation in SNL represents a great opportunity for international projection for Dominican music and its artists, especially for merengue típico, an autochthonous genre of the Dominican Republic, while reaffirming the love of the Dominican-born rapper for her roots. During the presentation, Cardi B wore a white dress with details in red and blue tones, alluding to the colors of the Dominican flag. In addition, she was accompanied by two dancers who performed merengue steps on stage, while El Prodigio wore a white jacket. Without a doubt, the choice of this song for Cardi B's new album, so many years after its original release, represents a vote of confidence in Dominican music and a recognition of emblematic figures like El Prodigio.
