PROMESE/CAL launches tender for RD$2.485 billion to acquire medications

Investment will supply demand from the National Health Service and People's Pharmacies until April 2027

Santo Domingo. – The Essential Medicines and Central Logistics Support Program (PROMESE/CAL) launched the National Public Bidding process reference PROMESECAL-CCC-LPN-2026-0001, which will cover the demands of the National Public Health System between May 2026 and April 2027. The investment is RD$2,485 million, 971 thousand, 407 pesos with 80 cents and is distributed in 442 items that also include sanitary supplies and laboratory reagents required for the optimal functioning of the hospital centers that make up the National Health Service. The director of PROMESE/CAL, José Luis López Pérez, explained that the technical nature of the institution is to buy, store, and distribute medications to the hospital network, as well as to the People's Pharmacies.

He also indicated that this is the first National Public Bidding process launched under the protection of the new Public Procurement Law 47-25 and its implementing regulations, also recently published, which improve competitiveness among bidders, streamlines processes while strengthening transparency and the system of consequences. The proposals on A and on B will be received on March 23rd and 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the PROMESE/CAL headquarters and the economic proposals will be announced on Friday, May 1st from 9:00 a.m.
