Congresswoman Leyvi Bautista sets position on information disseminated on digital platforms

Santo Domingo. – The deputy for the province of Santo Domingo, Leyvi Bautista, issued an official statement in which she categorically rejected the information and content recently disseminated on digital platforms that attempt to link her name and that of her family with irregular acts. The legislator clarified that both she and her husband have built their wealth over years of honest work, sustained effort, and the development of legitimate business activities, duly registered and in compliance with the law.

"We reject any insinuation or accusation that intends to associate us with illicit actions or those far from ethics," Bautista expressed.

In her statement, the official reaffirmed her respect for freedom of expression and the role of the media in a democratic society, while calling for the responsible exercise of journalism, based on truthfulness and rigor.

He warned that the dissemination of unverified information, as well as disinformation or defamation, does not contribute to the strengthening of public debate or institutionalism. Bautista was also emphatic in pointing out that at no time has she promoted actions that threaten the integrity or professional practice of communicators, and that all her actions have been carried out within the framework of the law, using the corresponding institutional mechanisms to defend her honor and her rights. He also reported that the situation has been formally submitted to the competent authorities for proper investigation, in accordance with due process, expressing his confidence in Dominican justice.
