"Evita" arrives at Theamus theater in Blue Mall with a striking local production

Santo Domingo. – The strength, passion, and history of one of the most influential women in Latin America come to life on stage with the musical “Evita”, a large-format production that will be presented at the Theamus theater, located on the 5th floor of Blue Mall, in four unique performances on the 16th, 24th, 25th and 26th of April. With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, Evita narrates the intense life of Eva Perón, from her humble origins to becoming a key figure in Argentine history, a symbol of struggle, charisma, and connection with the people.

This new staging stars three young talents of Dominican musical theater: Valeria Dávila, Roger Manzano and Gedeón David, who take on the challenge of bringing the central characters to life with an interpretation full of emotion and depth. They are joined by a vibrant ensemble composed of 20 young artists, whose work is fundamental to build the narrative and give life to the collective energy that defines this musical.

The stage proposal stands out for its high artistic and technical level, with a top-level creative team: the choreography is in charge of Gracelina Olivero, providing an elegant body language with nuances of tango; the vocal direction is led by Claudia González and Paola Prado, guaranteeing a solid and emotional musical interpretation.

The costume design, signed by Danilo Cerovic, and its creation by Magdalena Gutiérrez, recreate the aesthetics of the era with great detail and sophistication. The scenography, designed by Angélica Lora and executed by Tracke Stage, builds a visually striking environment that transports the audience to the political and social world of 20th-century Argentina. The general direction of this production is in the hands of Luis Marcel Ricart, who continues to consolidate an artistic proposal that promotes the development of musical theater in the Dominican Republic, betting on young talent and scenic excellence. Tickets are available through Uepa Tickets. This production is sponsored by important brands such as Banco Popular, Refidomsa, Grupo SID, Club de Lectores del Listin Diario, Swarovsky, IMCA and Segurnet, who join this cultural initiative that promises to leave a mark on the Dominican public. "Evita" is more than a musical: it's an experience that moves, inspires, and celebrates the power of a story that continues to resonate in the hearts of generations.
