Santo Domingo.- April 26th is World Intellectual Property Day, a date established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in the year 2000.
According to its definition, intellectual property is a legal discipline that protects artistic, literary, and scientific innovations and creations, as well as the names, symbols, and images used commercially.
Intellectual property is fundamental for the promotion of innovation and creativity, as it allows creators and companies to obtain recognition and benefits for their creative work. Intellectual property rights include patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and copyrights, and play a key role in technological and cultural progress.
The World Intellectual Property Day is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of inventors and creators from all over the world, and to explore how intellectual property contributes to the flourishing of music and the arts and to the technological innovation that helps shape our world.
