Santiago.- The intense rains recorded on the afternoon of this Saturday caused flooding in important avenues and multiple sectors of the city, affecting traffic and generating concern among residents.
Among the most affected routes are 27 de Febrero Avenue, Estrella Sadhalá, Circunvalación Sur and Francia, where water accumulations were reported that hindered vehicular circulation for several hours.
Also, various sectors were flooded, including La Gloria, La Herradura, Los Salados, Bella Vista, Reparto Peralta, Pastor, Los Reyes and Buenos Aires, in the municipality of Puñal, evidencing the magnitude of the rainfall in a large part of the municipality.

The provincial director of Civil Defense, Francisco Arias, reported that the rains caused the overflowing of streams in several areas, which contributed to the momentary collapse of streets and the increase of risk for families residing in vulnerable areas.
Faced with this situation, the authorities urged the population to remain alert and adopt preventive measures, especially those who live near rivers, streams and ravines, due to the possibility of new floods in the coming hours.
