“Ojo Vivo” sentenced to 10 years in prison for robberies in Cotuí

Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez. – The Collegiate Court of Sánchez Ramírez sentenced this Thursday to 10 years of prison to Yan Marcos Rivas Ventura, known as “Ojo Vivo”, after being found guilty of committing several robberies in the municipality of Cotuí. The sentence was issued after the Public Ministry, represented by magistrates Tiburcio Antonio Gómez and Juan Ventura Peguero Castillo, presented the evidence that demonstrated the criminal responsibility of the accused in the events. During the trial, the prosecutors managed to establish that Rivas Ventura violated articles 379, 381, 384, 385 and 386 of the Dominican Penal Code, related to various theft crimes committed in the locality. One of the facts attributed to the convicted person was captured on video, evidence that was part of the evidence evaluated by the court to issue the sentence.

Authorities noted that "Ojo Vivo" kept Cotuí residents in constant worry due to the frequent robberies attributed to it, affecting the tranquility of various sectors of the municipality.
