Santo Domingo. The Universidad Federico Henríquez y Carvajal (UFHEC) celebrated its 48th ordinary graduation, in which it invested 2,185 new undergraduate and postgraduate professionals, reaffirming its commitment to the training of human capital for the sustainable development of the Dominican Republic. From the total graduates, 2,003 completed undergraduate programs and 182 finished postgraduate studies in strategic areas such as education, health, business sciences, legal sciences, and engineering. The ceremony's keynote speaker was the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, who highlighted UFHEC's role as a key institution in the training of professionals committed to national progress. "This educational institution represents a hope for the future of the nation, seeing how its legacy of excellence continues to live on in more than 2,000 new professionals ready to take on the challenges of the transformation that the country demands," said the official. Peña also pointed out that universities should become true incubators of innovation and engines of social change, capable of driving solutions that generate well-being and employment opportunities. Likewise, he urged the graduates to pursue excellence through discipline, constant preparation, and the use of their personal strengths.

Careers with the highest number of graduates

During the ceremony, professionals from the faculties of Health Sciences, Economic and Business Sciences, Humanities and Legal Sciences, Education and Engineering were invested. The majors with the highest number of graduates were School Counseling (364), Accounting (336), Clinical Psychology (303), Law (269), Nursing (220), and Business Administration (142). In the postgraduate level, the Master's in Psychopedagogy and Educational Inclusion stood out, with 64 graduates; the Master's in Real Estate Law, with 31; and the Specialization in Teaching Qualification for Mathematics, with 30 graduates.

More than 49 thousand trained professionals

The national rector of UFHEC, Alberto Ramírez Cabral, highlighted that the institution has delivered 49,171 professionals to society throughout its history. During his speech, he urged the graduates to face technological, social, and economic challenges with a vision of opportunities, reminding them that academic training acquires its true value when it is put at the service of society with ethics and commitment.

They recognize business trajectory

As part of the ceremony, the university awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Business Administration to the entrepreneurs Félix María García Castellanos and Fernando Aníbal Capellán Peralta, in recognition of their contributions to business development, the strengthening of the national productive apparatus, and their contributions to social welfare. In thanking for the distinction, Félix García stated that his purpose has always been to contribute to leaving a better world for future generations, which is why he encouraged the new professionals to work for the development of the country. For his part, Fernando Capellán highlighted the importance of resilience, transparency, and honesty in the current context. In addition, he pointed out that the Dominican Republic faces significant challenges in education, environment, and migration, although he valued the stability achieved thanks to the joint effort of the business sector and national authorities.

Honor graduate highlights effort and perseverance

In representation of the graduates, Yolenny Lorenzo Valssaint, a graduate of the Bachelor of Education, mention Administration and Supervision, delivered the words of thanks. Lorenzo obtained a perfect academic index of 4.0 and was recognized with the distinction Summa Cum Laude, highlighting during his speech perseverance, sacrifice, and commitment as fundamental pillars of his professional training.
