The Emergency Operations Center (COE) The Emergency Operations Center (COE) issued a green alert for six provinces of the country due to the incidence of a trough at different levels of the atmosphere, which is generating favorable conditions for ch showers, isolated thunderstorms and wind gusts.
According to the most recent report from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), the provinces under alert are: Santo Domingo, the National District, Hato Mayor, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata and Monseñor Nouel.

The agency indicated that an increase in cloud cover and precipitation is expected from noon and during the early hours of the night. These rains could reach moderate to heavy intensities locally, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional wind gusts. Faced with this situation, the COE recommended that citizens avoid crossing rivers, streams, and ravines with a high volume of water, especially in the provinces under alert, to prevent situations that could endanger life and material goods. Authorities continue to monitor the evolution of the trough and these conditions are expected to persist over the next few hours.
