Madrid, Spain. — Senator Franklin Romero highlighted the positioning that the Dominican Republic has achieved as one of the most complete and attractive destinations not only in the Caribbean, but also globally, this, according to the legislator, thanks to the articulated work between the Ministry of Tourism, the support of the central Government and the constant promotion of the country in the main international markets.
During his visit to Fitur, Romero especially valued the work being carried out by the Ministry of Tourism, with the direct support of the Presidency of the Republic, in the strategic promotion of the country as a diverse, safe and competitive destination. He assured that this effort has allowed the Dominican Republic to continue consolidating itself as a tourist reference for European visitors, especially from the Spanish market. When asked by the cameras of De Último Minuto, about the reasons why a European tourist should choose the Dominican Republic, he highlighted that the country offers much more than sun and beach.Furthermore, he emphasized the sustained growth of entertainment tourism."The visitor doesn't just come to vacation, they come to meet a family," he pointed out, alluding to the warmth, hospitality, and closeness that characterizes the Dominican people and has become one of the main differentiating values of the destination.

"Major international shows, cultural and artistic events that tour the main cities of the world are including the Dominican Republic in their agendas. This dynamism has boosted the development of cultural infrastructures, a wide gastronomic offer, nightclubs and recreational spaces that strengthen the visitor's experience," explained Romero. Similarly, he highlighted the growth of mountain tourism and ecotourism, areas that are becoming increasingly relevant within the national offer. He indicated that the country has a unique natural richness, which includes national parks, ecological destinations and endemic species, such as endangered birds that are only found in specific provinces of the national territory, which represents a special attraction for nature lovers and sustainable tourism. He agreed that this diversification of the tourism product strengthens the country brand and expands economic development opportunities, reaffirming the Dominican Republic as an integral destination that combines culture, nature, entertainment, and hospitality.
